Hi Jen,
My name is Kristen and I am thinking about doing my PhD research on the construction of linguistic attitudes and linguistic identity in relation to language maintenance in Dominica. Do you think there are enough Kweyol speakers there for me to learn it and not be frustrated by people who refuse to speak anything but English to me?

By the way, I have really enjoyed your blog! Thanks for the inside look into Dominica!

Best,
Kristen

LOTS of Kweole speakers on the island, and they would love to work with you, I am sure.

Good Luck,

Jen

Hi, thank you so much for providing me with such a detailed insight about life in Dominica. Our family, myself partner and daughter (1yrs) are visiting for 2 months from the start of September and I would like to ask you if it's possible to stay for longer (we are UK citizens) and can we bring our beloved dog (who has a pet passport) and then take back to BVI (part of the pet passport scheme) then back to UK (in a year or 2) I would be so grateful for any advice you could offer, I know you have your dog living with you, I would love to meet you when i am over and invite you for tea x
